Today was all about exploring new places we didn’t visit on our first trip. Unlike the other chill-chill days (except hanbokking—nothing beats that), this day was packed with curiosity and excitement. Our first stop: the famous Starfield Library in Gangnam.
Finding this library was not straightforward. It’s tucked inside COEX Mall, (yes, inside a mall) one of the largest underground shopping malls in Seoul. which immediately feels confusing. Is it supposed to be a library or just some elaborate Instagram trap? let me just say, calling it a "library" feels a bit misleading.
Are people here to read? Absolutely not. Instead, they’re snapping photos, striking their best candid-but-not-really poses, getting up and down on the escalator and showing off their OOTDs. Books are stacked sky-high in beautiful, towering shelves—definitely picture-perfect. Don’t get me wrong—it’s gorgeous, and I totally joined in on the photo frenzy. But I couldn’t help wondering: Is this even a real library? Or just a place where books go to retire in style?

Next up, GOTO MALL. This place is a treasure trove of affordable shopping and gives major Kenanga Mall or Times Square vibes for my Malaysian peeps. Stretching beneath a subway station, this underground shopping haven is packed with clothing, accessories, and random knick-knacks that you didn’t know you needed. I snagged dresses for my daughter and niece, a skirt for me and my sister, and cute sweaters for my youngest sister. It’s the perfect spot to unleash your inner shopaholic without totally breaking the bank.

We initially planned to hit Namdaemun for even more shopping, but by the time we got there, the shops were closed. Bummer! However, we sempat beli Hotteok.

So, we hopped back on the train to Starria and decided to check out Busanjib, another TikTok-approved spot for halal food seekers.
The verdict? The food was pretty good! I went for the marinated raw chili crab, and oh my goodness—it was delicious. Spicy, flavorful, and just what I needed after a day of walking. The not-so-good part? The prices were painful.
But hey, holidays are for splurging, right? I channeled my inner filthy-rich old-money heiress, paid the bill, and moved on. No regrets.

Agaknya tak ramai kot orang Malaysia order makanan ni. memang dari Malaysia weolls da teringin nak makan spicy raw crab..bila dah rasa memang sedap la ceritanya. rasa spicy manis manis tu memang ngam and mask habis rasa ketam tak masak tu. cuma ketam yang ni takde telur la pulekkk. |

After our feast, we jalan-jalan kejap dekat Myeongdong Night Market and Orked nak try dikarikaturkan muka dia dekat this one caricature shop there. It was so cute!
We then headed back to Starria to do some laundry (because glamorous holidays also involve mundane chores).

I had one last exciting mission for the day—meeting my twin sister! I practically sprinted to the train station to greet her with the biggest hug. She’s finally here, and I’m beyond thrilled to have her join us for the rest of this trip. Can’t wait for all the fun, chaos, and sisterly bonding to come!
Goodnight from Day 5, where my wallet is lighter, my belly is full, and my heart is even fuller.
